It probably started with a young teenager looking at NatGeo pictures and deciding that he wanted to be the next Galen Rowell. First published at seventeen, first exhibition at twenty-one, photography suddenly took a third-row back seat for a couple of decades as life unravelled in unforeseeable directions. Half a lifetime later the re-entry into the initial passion was a decade of extreme mountaineering and the resulting photos becoming the foundation for a stock photography business.
