I love shooting in back lighting! But getting all of the elements together- fog, a low sun angle, moose in the right location, and my schedule- is very difficult. Only about once every 5 years can I get all of the elements aligned and even then its a fleeting opportunity with perhaps on a few minutes of good shooting. This is my #1 selling print on Fine Art America. Despite years of trying, I have not been able to match it.

I am a freelance photographer that has lived in Alaska since 1982 and travelled through out the state and other wonderful areas in the world by foot, boat and aircraft pursuing the endless beauty and variety that exists. I'm primarily a wildlife photographer but also enjoy the challenge of capturing landscapes. All of the animals in my images are wild- I do not take zoo or game farm images.
