A bare tree stands tall on a foggy morning in a southeastern Massachusetts landscape. A textured overlay enhances the atmospheric effect and adds to its luminosity. At the time this color photo was taken, the air was still and quiet.

David Gordon

I have been photographing for a long time. I originally worked in the traditional black and white darkroom process but eventually migrated to the digital darkroom. Among my influences are photographers such as Edward and Brett Weston, Minor White, Elliott Erwitt, Michael Kenna, Marc Riboud, Wynn Bullock, Paul Caponigro and many others. Exploration and discovery of both the urban and natural landscapes has led me on my haphazard photographic journey. Sometimes I notice things in my nearby environment, other times in my travels to places like the desert southwest and the California coast. Lately I seem to be drawn to more abstract work incorporating shadows, silhouettes and empty space. I am also becoming interested in the effects of time...
